The story

On the foothills of Pohorje, nature bestowed upon us an abundance of vine varieties and a wide selection of wines suitable for every taste and atmosphere. However, the
success and popularity of these wines date far back into the past centuries. The town of Slovenska Bistrica played a role in the history of wine trade as early as in the 16th century, and even today, the town is surrounded by hills with around 160 hectares of vineyards, which are state-of-the-art facilities with extremely beautiful landscape patterns.

Tradition

The Slovenska Bistrica Development and Information Center, together with the local winegrowers and project partners, joined Ritoznojčan - the wine of my youth
project, in the framework of which we established the Ritoznojčan Consortium in 2013 and connected winegrowers who will thus be able to increase the amount of Ritoznojčan produced, unify the label on the bottle, ensure constant quality control, preserve the originality of the bottle, increase the visibility of the wine, its geographical origin and its locally-traditional features, preserve the originality of the taste and offer it to customers at home and abroad as a specialty and valued wine.

Pride

It is impossible to overlook the quality and forget about the once widely renowned wine named Ritoznojčan, which has its roots in local vineyards. The name of the wine comes from the name of the village Ritoznoj, not far from Slovenska Bistrica. Different stories are told about the origin of the name. One of the funniest stories is that the name comes from the sweat that ran down the backs of winegrowers, as the name Ritoznoj literally means buttock sweat in Slovene. As far as wine testings are concerned, Ritoznojčan first appeared in 1947. In recent times it was almost forgotten, but the wine endured and is now writing a brand new story under the name RITOZNOJČAN PTP (wine with a recognized traditional name).

Quality

Playfulness, youthful freshness, diversity, intensity and seductiveness are the characteristics of this semi-dry wine, in which the varieties of Italian Riesling, Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling and Sauvignon were harmoniously complemented.

It is time for Ritoznojčan to live again and for us to enjoy, smell, taste and feel the paradise that has been here for centuries while sipping on a glass of wine.
